FAQ

What conditions do you treat?
We treat it all! Conditions that we commonly see include pelvic floor dysfunction (postpartum care, pelvic pain, pelvic organ prolapse, and urinary incontinence/leakage) and orthopedic injuries (such as: low back pain, neck pain, hip/knee pain, ankle/foot pain, and shoulder pain). Additionally, we also treat patients post-operatively following orthopedic or pelvic surgeries.

What is Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy?
Pelvic floor physical therapy treats a variety of women’s health issues including: leakage, urinary incontinence, prolapse, pelvic pain, pain with intercourse, etc. We treat these issues by looking at the strength, coordination, and function of the pelvic floor and supporting musculature.

What does “pelvic floor” mean?
Your pelvic floor refers to the muscles, fascia, and ligaments that provide support to all of the organs in your abdominal cavity.

Is pelvic floor physical therapy right for me?
If you’re experiencing leakage, incontinence, prolapse, constipation, or pelvic pain then the answer may be “yes!” These conditions are typically treated with an interdisciplinary approach that coordinates care with other medical practitioners, including OB-GYNs, urologists, etc. Pelvic floor PT is often an important piece of the puzzle!!

Do you accept insurance?
No, we are out-of-network with all insurances providers. Unfortunately, insurance often dictates what treatments are covered and how long patients can be seen for which compromises the level of care that we can provide. However, we can provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance for reimbursement.
